I am producing director of The Civilians, a touring theatre company based in New York.

I was born in Iola, Kansas to Donna and Gary Gorden. I have one older brother, Shawn, who lives with in Washington, MO and works at Clemco with his lovely bride, Roxanne. I spent most of my childhood growing up in Springfield, MO. My mom, Donna, is a Personal Financial Planner at Ameriprise and is now married to Glenn Auld, a retired Air Force colonel who now works at O.P. Hardwoods. My dad, Gary, lives in Lee's Summitt, MO and works for Martin Marietta. I came to Chicago for college in 1996 to study in East Asian Languages & Civilizations at the University of Chicago. I returned in June 1999 from spending a year studying abroad at the Kyoto Center for Japanese Studies, part of the Stanford Japan Center. In 2000 I graduated from the U of C and moved into a full time position in at Court Theatre, where I had worked part-time during college. In August of 2002 I started a new position at the University of Chicago's Alumni Association as Assistant Director for Class and Campus Programs, where I worked on Alumni Weekend and the Class Correspondents program. In 2004 I left the Windy City to accept the Vilar Fellowship for Arts Management at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In August of 2005 I started a new position as producing director of The Civilians, a touring theatre company based in New York City.
